From 0 to 1 million vehicles, it took 13 years; from 1 million to 3 million vehicles, it took one and a half years; from 3 million to 5 million vehicles, it took only 9 months.
Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows that in the first half of the year, China's new energy vehicle production and sales reached 3.788 million and 3.747 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 42.4% and 44.1%.
While production and sales are booming, rising exports mean the international recognition of Chinese brands has increased. In the first half of the year, China exported 2.14 million automobiles, a year-on-year increase of 75.7%, of which 534,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 160%; China's automobile export volume surpassed Japan, ranking first in the world.
The performance of new energy vehicles at the exhibition was equally popular. Recently, at the 20th Changchun International Automobile Expo, many visitors inquired about car purchases in the AION exhibition area. Salesman Zhao Haiquan said excitedly: "More than 50 cars were ordered in one day."
Since the beginning of this year, at major auto shows, the frequency of "groups" of major multinational car companies visiting and communicating at the local new energy vehicle brand booths has increased significantly.

Yin Tongyue, chairman of Chery Automobile, believes that technological innovation is the core competitiveness. Chery invests about 7% of its sales revenue in R&D every year.
The industrial chain continues to improve. From core components such as batteries, motors, and electronic controls to complete vehicle manufacturing and sales, China has created a relatively complete new energy vehicle industry chain system. In the Yangtze River Delta, industrial clusters are developing collaboratively, and a new energy vehicle manufacturer can supply the required supporting parts within a 4-hour drive.
